Project "Polish Women around the World - Chicago 2012"

PlakatRecently I had the pleasure to be a part of a wonderful project created by Barbara Gasior, "Polish Women Around the World - Chicago 2012". I was one of the featured women in business as well as one of the sponsors of this event.
Barbara Gasior was the director of the exhibit as well as the author of all pictures presented during this event.
The exhibit was the first edition of the project that main goal is to showcase successful women from the state of Illinois and the city of Chicago whose successes are measured by the realization of their goals and aspirations. The exhibit featured portraits of women who lead active and purposeful lives and are role models for other women. The examples they set demonstrate that it is possible to break free of stereotypes and overcome obstacles. A woman’s creativity and ingenuity knows no bounds. These successful women all share one thing in common: they have the ability to think in terms of success and take advantage of their knowledge and talents in order to change the dynamics and directions of their lives. In their spirits, they combine sensitivity, gentleness, kindness, inner strength and strong convictions in their own abilities. I venture to add that they believe in unlimited possibilities.

Amethyst – good stone for stress!!

home imgAmethyst is the official birthstone for February as adopted by the American National Association of Jewelers in 1912. It is also the birth stone for the Zodiac sign of Pisces. Amethyst is suggested as a gem to give on the 4th, 6th and 17th wedding anniversaries.

Amethyst is the purple variety of quartz and the most valued member of the quartz family. It must be purple to be amethyst, but it can display a range of shades including deep purple, light lilac, lavender and mauve. Top quality amethyst is a deep medium purple with rose-colored flashes. Its purple color made it a stone of royalty for many thousands of years. Known as the prize stone since the days of ancient Egypt, Amethyst holds an honored place in the Crown Jewels of England, frequently known as the "Rose de France", a popular jewelry item during the Victorian age and worn by every Pope since the sixteenth century.
